There is little research on how individual nurses involve parents as partners in care during their child's hospitalisation
What importance do nurses give to certain variables when considering parents as partners in care?
How do nurses use and evaluate information to make a judgement about the parent's capability to participate in the care of their children?
How consistent are the judgements between nurses and across similar situations?
How accurate are these judgements in assessing a parent's willingness and competence to participate in the care of their children at any given time?
Nurses need to be more analytical in their approach to decision making in relation to parental participation
