Mapping diarrhoeal disease in Nepal

Nepal has an isolated population where diarrhoeal disease is one of the main causes of infant death.
The distinctions made about causes and consequences of abdominal problems are considered.
Cognitive mapping was used to elicit mothers' ideas of diarrhoea, constipation and vomiting.
Literacy programmes have been introduced.
Diagrammatic research can be useful in a culture which is predominantly oral in tradition.
