{blacksquare} Febrile convulsions are common in early childhood and may be the first sign of an illness.

{blacksquare} Witnessing the convulsion and experiencing the subsequent admission is extremely stressful for parents.

{blacksquare} Children's nurses need to identify the evidence for best practice in the management of febrile convulsions.
