Exploitation of Children and Young People through ProstitutionThe Middlesex Adolescent Unit, Middlesex Hospital, Londonkaren.walker{at}uclh.org The numbers of children in contemporary society involved in prostitution is still largely unknown. However, there are multiple factors which leave children vulnerable and involved in prostitution. This article aims to explore the historical context of child prostitution, factors which may predispose an adolescent engaging in prostitution, and the role that professionals within the healthcare setting can offer.
